The Vice President of Commercial Sales is responsible for the overall coordination, functional management and leadership of all commercial sales activity. This position reports directly to the President.
Areas of responsibility
Establishing both annual and monthly sales objectives in coordination with the company's business plan
Provides an annual sales and business plan, and quarterly updates, revisions and modifications to the plan
Coordinates the specific objectives of the sales plan with all functional departments of the company (most specifically, the sales and Finance/Accounting Departments
Establishes both market and target customer strategies for the company (in coordination with the President)
Responsible for the successful management of customer needs in order to meet the objectives of the overall business plans and strategies
Defines and manages the monthly and annual sales objectives of the sales personnel
Establishes compensation plans for all sales personnel, including salary structures, commission plans, sales contest and bonus plans (in coordination with the President, the HR and Finance Departments)
Expected to be knowledgeable of market and industry trends, competitors, and leading customer strategies
Skills
Has experience in managing both outside and inside sales personnel
Has been a VP or Director of Sales Manager in the aircraft parts sales and brokering industry
Has developed and executed tactical sales plans including quotas and account objectives
Has managed phone sales
Is highly organized and has very effective time management skills
Is highly computer literate
Has strong negotiating skills and capacity
Has strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as equally strong listening skills
Has an established customer base of airlines, maintenance facilities, suppliers and end users
Is available to travel domestically and internationally
Knowledge of world geography
Experience
Minimum 5-10 years in the aircraft parts sales and brokering industry
Minimum 5 years as a sales manager in the aircraft parts sales and brokering industry
